Melissa Hancock was born and raised in Panama City, Florida. She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Florida State University in 1997.

Ms. Hancock taught fourth grade for two years and assisted with writing the curriculum for a conflict resolution program for grades K-5.

Ms. Hancock returned to Florida State University where she obtained her Juris Doctor in 2003. While in law school, Ms. Hancock was a member of the Phi Delta Phi Legal Fraternity and the Tallahassee chapter of Inns of Court. She also participated in an externship at Legal Services of North Florida.

Ms. Hancock began working at the firm in 2003 and practices in many areas of law, including real estate, family law, construction and civil trial practice. Ms. Hancock is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida.

Ms. Hancock is an active member of the Ocala Lions Club
