Mr. Cortes was raised in Marianna, Florida. He obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Miami in 1998 where he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. Mr. Cortes then graduated from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama in 2001 where he received both a Juris Doctor degree from Cumberland School of Law and a Master of Business Administration degree from Samford University School of Business.

Mr. Cortes was admitted to the Florida Bar and joined the firm as an associate in 2001. Mr. Cortes became a partner of the firm in August, 2005. He limits his practice to civil litigation, corporate and real estate transactions, and representing the interests of building contractors and corporations. Mr. Cortes is a member of the Attorneys’ Title Insurance Fund and an agent for First American Title Insurance Company. In addition, Mr. Cortes works with the firm’s Spanish- speaking clientele.

Mr. Cortes is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. Mr. Cortes is an active member of the Marion County Bar Association.
